Pale Hall is recruiting a full time Facilities & Maintenance Assistant to support the management in the maintenance and compliance of this magnificent Victorian country house set in 25 acres of formal gardens and woodland.
Tradesperson preferred, we're particularly interested in those with a knowledge of maintaining historic buildings. A significant percentage of the hotel’s electricity is generated by a hydroturbine, so some mechanical knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
This is a key position at the heart of the hotel requiring keen vigilance and the ability to work on initiative. Flexibility is essential to meet the demands of a complex structure with Listed Building status where the unforeseen can happen!
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the role will involve supporting the Maintenance Manager with the upkeep of the daily to annual maintenance programme at the Hotel and the Bryntirion and supporting the Maintenance Manager with general building projects around the estate.

This is a full time permanent position, 40 hours per week, five days over seven to include occasional weekend work.

We are currently seeking a maintenance assistant to join our Estates Team to help uphold the high standards of our property.
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of repair tasks to ensure our hotel remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. Your work will directly support our guest experience and contribute to the long-term upkeep of the property.
Assist in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Support daily maintenance operations, including general building repairs, painting, carpentry, and minor installations.
Conduct routine checks on equipment and report any faults or safety hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
Help maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
Assist with groundskeeping duties as needed, including minor landscaping and outdoor upkeep.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from other departments or guests (where applicable).
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a similar role is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good physical condition and stamina to perform manual tasks.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
